John was a Grocer & merchant in Ardersier

They had eight known children:

Isobel baptised 19 Nov 1809
Katharine 01 baptised September 1812
John baptised 10 August 1814 &died August 1849
Daniel baptised 03 May 1816
James born 1818 & died 1819
Mary baptised 12 April 1821
Margaret baptised 21 March 1827 & died Jan 1830
William - dates unknown - signed Daniels' death certificate
 


Leach's shop Ardersier - 1994 a residence

Annie McLeay - late resident told how she used to play skeetchie (hop scotch)
on the pavement in front & "Old Mrs Leach" would shout out the window
 & chase them away.

Daniel Leach
born 03 May 1816 &
married in Ardersier on 15 September 1843

Catherine McLean born in Holland in 1816 
to John McLean a gunner in the artillery & Janet Simpson
(probably married Greenock Renfrew in 1792)

The 1851 census of Ardersier lists Daniel as an
 Ironmonger & General Merchant, High Cross Ardersier

1881 census Catherine was living with
Alexander Paterson & daughter Flora Ann Leach
 at No 7 Stuarton Ardersier - note on census spelt "Leitch"

Daniel died Stuarton Petty on  11 September 1869
Catherine died at 14 High Street Ardersier on 06 August 1896

No head stones were found in Petty or  Ardersier

The only known child of Daniel & Catherine was:

Flora Ann Gordon O'Leary Leach -  05 August 1844 to 01 December 1910
