Descent of Thomas Brailsford Esq. of Barkwith House, Lincolnshire.

BRAILSFORD, Thomas, Esq., of Barkwith House, co. Lincoln, born 10 Oct 1787, married 14 Jan 1815 Anne daughter of James Shipley Esq. by Elizabeth his wife, one of the coheiresses of the late William Heathcoate Esq. of the colony of Demerara and of Stancliffe Hall, co. Derby, and has issue, Thomas, born in 1815; Samuel, born in 1819; John-Arthur-Heathcoate, born in 1822; William, born in 1825; Eliza; Ellen; Alsina; and Emma-Dorothea.
Mr Brailsford inherited a portion of his estates upon the demise of his great uncle in 1808 and the remainder at the death of his uncle in 1820.

Descent:
Thomas Brailsford of South Normanton, descended from the Brailsfords of Senior (sic), married sometime before 1689, Elizabeth Smyth of Bolsover, an heiress, and had a son and successor, Thomas Brailsford of Bolsover and South Normanton, father, by Frances Machon of Mansfield, his wife, whom he wedded 30 Sept 1713, of Samuel Brailsford of Rowthorne, who died in 1808, and of Thomas Brailsford of Bolsover and South Normanton, in the co. of Derby, who espoused in 1740 Ellen Newbould of Mansfield Woodhouse and had two sons, Thomas his heir and Samuel who married in 1786 Mary daughter of Nicholas Christian esq. of Castleton, Isle of Man, and died in 1798 leaving two sons Thomas and Samuel who died in 1809. Mr Brailsford was succeeded by his elder son.
Thomas Brailsford Esq., of South Normanton, born in 1742, at whose decease without issue in 1820, the estates and representation of the family devolved on his nephew, the present Thomas Brailsford Esq. of Barkwith House.
