Most of the children of Joseph Breshears and Prudence Henderson seem to have been born in and around Bolivar, Polk County, Missouri.
There has been some confusion by other researchers regarding Prudence HENDERSON's name. The confusion was explained by Judy BRESHEARS in this way: "I think re: Prudence - this is where it gets complicated. Joseph's father was married to Prudence Tipton. (He was also a Joseph). They lived near William and Sarah Henderson and two of Joseph's sons married Henderson daughters. Just so happened that Joseph married Prudence, hence the confusion. That is the way I have understood it, anyway."

The wife of John Henry BRESHEARS, Oda Belle BENGE, is the daughter of Richard BENGE who was a full-blood Cherokee who grew up speaking the Cherokee language as a young child but when his parents George and Betsy Benge died, he was then raised by White English speaking parents. She was born on January 1, 1918 at home, which was on Yellowhammer Mtn., in Cherokee County, with the nearest town being Braggs, Okla. John Henry Breshears was born on August 10, 1908 at home in the country nears the Qualls, Okla. community. He passed away on March 13, 1995, and is laid to rest in Sand Springs, Okla. John Henry Breshears and Oda Belle's were married January 14, 1935, at the preacher's home near the Qualls community.
