According to the 1900 census William was born in 1861, he along with his parents left Illinois when he was 6 years old

On his petition for naturalization dated Oct 13 1914. His family returned from Wetaskiwin Alta. on Aug 4 1907 through the Port of Sweet-grass to settle in Harrisburg Neb, Banner Co. On his declaration he was described as a white male Ruddy complexion, 5' 6.5" tall weighed 175 lbs. grayish brown hair, blue eyes, and that his left hip was 4 " shorter. They returned via the CPRG Great Northern Railroad.

FUNERAL RITES WM.A.SCOVILLE HELD YESTERDAY

 Funeral rites for William Albert Scoville, 84, of Harrisburg, pioneer farmer and rancher, were conducted at the Trinity Methodist church in Kimball yesterday at 2 p.m. Dr. Paul Philip conducted the service and burial was made in the Kimball cemetery.
 Mr. Scoville was born in Princeton, Ill., Nov. 23, 1860. He married Emma G. Snyder on Oct. 7, 1885. Six children were born, three of whom are dead.
 With his family, Mr. Scoville first came to western Nebraska in 1886 and preempted land north of Egleston and the hill on Pumpkin creek, when the area was part of Cheyenne county.
 Mr Scoville then moved to Canada for a few years, returning to what is now Banner county in 1910. He lived there until the time of his death, and was known as one of banner county's most successful farmers.
 Surviving are his wife and three daughters, including Mrs. Jessie McArthur of Ontario, Canada, and Mrs. Orpha Cross of Harrisburg, with whom he and his wife had made their home for almost two years. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
 One son, William Bud, preceded him in death, as did two daughters, Mrs Mamie Stamper of Kokomo, Ind, and Mrs Carrie Nelson of Kimball.

Omitted from this obit was the mention of Mrs. Flossie Wensky Wm's youngest daughter.
