Aug. 27,1832, Andrew Burnam, of Milford, New
Hampshire, aged 71 years, deposed ;
that he enlisted Jan. 1,1778, at Amherst, N.H., under Capt. Samuel Dearborn, Col. Peabody ; marched to Providence then to the island of Rhode Island, and served there and on the coast west of Newport for one year ; was in the Battle of Rhode Island and in the retreat under General Sullivan ;
that he was born in Ipswich, Mass., in 1761, moved
to Amherst, N.H., when he was fourteen years old and has resided there
and in Milford ( part of which was taken from Amherst ) ever since , except
about one year and a half when he lived at Wilton

Rev. Humphrey Moore and Abel Lovejoy, both of Milford, certified to their belief in soldier's veracity, & c.
July 3, 1832, John Carleton, of Mount Vernon,
N.H. aged 69 years, testified that he was born at Amherst, N.H. and has
always lived there and at Mt. Vernon ( which was formerly part of Amherst
) ; has always been aquainted with Burnam, who lived about a mile from
him ; that sometime in the winter of 1777-8. a recruiting officer named
Wheaton came to Amhesrt to enlist soldiers for one year, asked deponent
to enlist and said Burnam had enlisted for one year, Soon afterwards Burnham
went away and deponent did not see him until August when having volunteered
to go to Rhode Island he met Burnam there doing the duty of a soldier.

Aug. 10,1832, William Follansbee, of Francestown, N.H. "aged 71 years, Aug. 22,1831 testified to service with Burnam for one year under Capt. Dearborn.

April 11, 1843, Elizabeth Burnham, of Milford, N.H. aged 76 years, deposed ;
that she is the widow of Andrew Burnham, Revolutionary pensioner, who died at Milford, N.H., Aug. 3,1838 ; and that she was married to him Dec. 6,1787, her maiden name being Elizabeth Burnes.

Certificate from town clerk of Wilton, N.H., shows
that Andrew Burnham and Elizabeth Burns, both of Amherst,were married Dec,
5,1787, by Abel fisk.
A certified copy of the roll of Capt. Samuel
Dearborn's company was forwarded the Department.
Claim allowed.
July 19, 1848, Elizabeth Burnham, of Milford,
N.H. aged 81 years, applied under Act of Feb. 2,1848.

Claim allowed and certificate 1165, N.H. Agency, was issued Aug. 4,1848, under Act of Feb. 2,1848.
July 31, 1852, Elizabeth Burnham applied for increase
of pension.
Not allowed as muster roll forwarded shows only
11 months and 7 days of service.
April 18, 1855, Elizabeth Burnham, of Milford,
aged 87 years, applied for Bounty land.

and Jacob Hutchinson and Esther W. Hutchinson,
both of Milford, testified that they have known the Burnhams many years
; that by a family record they find ; "To the memory of Andrew Burnham,
who died Aug.3,1838, aged 77 years ; that they had seven children and that
Jacob Hutchinson attended the funeral of Andrew and knows that Elizabeth
has always remained his widow.
Application granted and BLWT 11158, for 160 acres,was
issued Nov. 30,1855.
