two Towne Lots in Charles Towne (by Indenture). Dated the 19th day
of November, 1694: under ye hand & seale,

Doct. Charles Burnham, had a warrant out of
the
Sec tyes office bareing Date ye 26th day of May 1696 for two hundred
and seventy acres of land being purchased of
and from the Rt. Hon rbl ye Lords prs after ye rate of twenty
pounds
per thousand acres as the receipt of John Archdale Esq r. Govern
bareing
date the--- day of May 1696. observing ye Lords per instructions for
grant
of lands bareing date of 6th day of Feb. 1692. To John Berisford

You are hereby forthwith to measure & lay
out unto Mr. Charles Burnham, Seventy acres of land arriving a freeman
in December not yet laid out nor marked to be laid out for any other
reason
or use the sd land being due to the sd Charles burnham by & for the
transportation into this province of himself whose name is recorded in
the Secretariezs office in the province & wch gd quanity of land
you
are to measure & lay out according to the proportion & rule
directed
by the Lords Proprieto; instructions bearing date at Whitehall the
tenth
day of May one thousand six hundred eighty & two & a
certificate
fully specifying the scittuacon & bounds thereof you are to retirn
to us with all conventient speed & for your soe doing this shall be
your warrant; dated at Charles towne this ninteenth day of 1682.
