Industrious labor and hard work seem to be characteristics of the Fultons and their crest exemplifies these attributes. The Stag lodged on a mount regardant, resting, yet watchfully looking around.

The legend states, "Things which we ourselves have done", and the motto on the scroll means, "Rest is attained by labor".
