Yew House Quarry, Southowram

Opposite Withinfields School, Law Lane. Recorded in 1893.

Created when the Farrars wanted the stone from the land on which Yew Tree House, Southowram stood and had the house rebuilt further south along Law Lane.

The quarries closed in the 1940s, and were filled with ash & confectionery rejects from Mackintosh's

Yew Tree Quarries, Lightcliffe

St Giles's Road.

Owners and tenants of the quarries have included

• W. & J. Glossop Limited [1937]

 

York Field Mill, Stansfield

Aka Oak Hill Clough Mill. Built around 1790.

Owners and tenants of the mill have included

• Robert Greenwood [1801]

 

In 1811, the mill operated 1296 spindles
