Manor of Shelf Hall

The Manor of Shelf Hall was a submanor of the Manor of Shelf.

The manor house was Shelf Old Hall.

The Lords of the Manor and early owners of Shelf Old Hall included:

• The Earls of Warren
• The Farsley family until 1316, when the Manor was forfeited to the Crown on account of treachery by Geoffrey de Farsley

In 1348, the Manor was granted to

• Bennet of Normanton
• William of Mirfield
• Robert de Swillington of Swillington near Leeds
• Elizabeth de Swillington [until 1437]
• Richard Pek
• John Pek and the Pek family
• Richard Fourness [from 1488]
• Thomas Fourness [from 1530] and his family

The Manor of Shelf Hall is not recorded after around 1561
