The Coat of Arms of John Stansfeld Of Stansfeld Hall And His Legitimate Male Descendants Was : �Sable (Black) Three Goats Trippant Argent (Silver) Each With A Collar About Its Neck And Bell Or. (Gold) �. An Example Of This Coat Of Arms Was In The East Window Of Elland Church, Being The Arms Of Hugh Stansfeld S1522, Great Grandson Of John Stansfeld S1581 These Arms In Elland Church, Which No Longer Exist, Were Described In Foster�S Visitation Of Yorkshire, 1584, And Are Recorded In The College Of Heralds : The Herald's College describes the arms as
Sable (black), three goats trippant Argent (silver)  each with a collar about its neck and Bell Or (gold)
