The grave of James Holt & family at Lister Lane Cemetery.

The gravestone was originally in Square Church Graveyard, and was rescued and taken to Lister Lane Cemetery [2014] when work began on Square Church Graveyard in preparation for the new Halifax Central Library

Epitaph 


In this Vault
Are deposited the remains of
JAMES HOLT
of Dean Clough, Halifax, Dyer.
He departed this life,
March 6th 1827,
in the 70th year of his age.
   
Also of RICHARD HOLT, Son
of the above, who departed this life
on the 18th Day of March 1839,
aged 50 years.
   
In Life respected, in Death lamented
   
Also of JOHN HOLT, Dyer,
Lee Bridge, Son of the above
JAMES HOLT, who died suddenly
at Blackpool August 27th 1844
Aged 52 Years and 10 Months.
   
Much lamented by his family and friends
   
Also of THOMAS HOLT of Lee
Bridge, Dyer, Son of the above
JAMES HOLT, who departed 
this Life, August 18th 1852,
aged 62 Years
