As far as I can tell most of the Caldwell side of the family came from southern
Ohio in Athen's county. I do remember much about my
father or any other members of the
Caldwell side of the family being that my mother and
father got divorced when I
very young.
My family we had a bad case of gypsy blood because about every six months to a year we were on the move to some place else. As a resulte we had no stable home life. By 1961 we had moved to California where my like took a sharp 180 degree turn.
I started to learn the ways of the street. I found out that most people can be coned if you can tell them what they want to hear. Also I found that you could steal anything if you first had a demand for it. The next thing I learned was that if you could pound someone into the ground or intemadate them that you would you could get away with anything. In other words I turned into a street punk.
Then in about 1962 Life took another turn in that my step father got hurt on the job and was bed riden and my mother went into a deabeta coma so as the oldest child I took over the family. At the age of thirdteen I was the head of the house. Now don't ask me how I did it, all I know is that I kept two of my three sisters in school as well as my self took care on mom, dad and baby sister. I took care of the house, put food on the table and made sure that the family was taken care of.
Then two days before Christmass I got cought breaking into an Icecream truck thinking that there might be some money in it. By this time dad was felling better and mom had come out of the coma but bnoth were still in bed. When the officer took me home dad answered the door and the officer took me into the house and explaned to mom and dad what I had done. The officer and my dad talked for a while as my dad explaned what had been going on the last few weeks. In responce the officer left and a shotr time later returned with boxes of food and toys. This was the best Christmass that I had I a long time.
