      James Clatterbuck

James Clatterbuck was born in 1760 in Caroline County, Virginia, the son of William P. Clatterbuck. James moved to Culpeper County about 1765, where he married Elizabeth Hunt on January 13, 1786 at St. Mary's Parish. She was born about 1764, the daughter of Julius Hunt. James served in the Revolutionary War for 15 months. You may read his pension transcription. In 1810 and 1820 James was listed in the Madison County Census. He did not move to Culpeper, as Madison was carved from Culpeper County. James died sometime between 1835 and 1840. There is not a lot of solid evidence for who his children were, which has made sorting them out difficult at times. I am listing them as I believe they are, other researchers may disagree.
