      John Lewis Clatterbuck

      John Lewis Clatterbuck was born May 6, 1836 the first son of William Getter Clatterbuck and Caroline Leopard. He married Lucy Francis Reynolds, daughter of John Payne Reynolds and Lavina Newman, on March 21, 1862. They had eleven children. He died on December 27, 1929 at the age of 96. He and Lucy were buried in Dry Fork Baptist Church Cemetery.

      J.L. Clatterbuck Found Dead (Dec 27, 1929)

      Resident of Guthrie Community, 96 years old, died at his home Friday Morning-John L. Clatterbuck, 96 years old, was found dead in bed at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ora Smith, near Guthrie, with whom he lived, Friday morning about 8:00 o�clock. Mr. Clatterbuck had been in unusually good health for one of his age, and ate heartily Thursday. He retired about his regular time Thursday night, apparently as well as usual. It is not known what time death occurred, as his passing was not discovered until someone wen to his room this morning. Funeral arrangements had not been made Friday afternoon.

      Mr. Clatterbuck was born in the Guthrie community, and had lived all his life within three miles from the farm on which he died. He is survived by eight children, four sons and four daughters. They are: William and Baxter Clatterbuck, Guthrie; J.H. Clatterbuck, Nevada, MO, Robert Clatterbuck, Jefferson City; Obe Clatterbuck East St. Louis, Mrs. Ora B. Smith, Mrs. Samuel Hudson, Mrs. Annie Wilson and Mrs. Rennie Clatterbuck, all of Guthrie.

      Mr. Clatterbuck was a charter member of the Dry Fork Baptist Church, near Guthrie and was one of its faithful and active members during his long life time.

      Mrs. John Clatterbuck of near Bloomfield Passes Away

      Mrs. John Clatterbuck died at her home, northwest of New Bloomfield, Tuesday morning at about 5 o�clock. Mrs. Clatterbuck, was about seventy years old (note says 64) and has been a member of the Dry Fork Church for many years and was one of the best Christian women of the county. She leaves a husband and ten children to mourn their loss. The chidlren are: Will. Baxter, Robert, Waller, Horton, and Overton and Mrs. Samuel Hudson, Mrs. Lorenzo Clatterbuck, Mrs.Ory Smith and Mrs. Carl Wilson.

      At her home two miles northwest of New Bloomfield, Mrs. Francis Clatterbuck, wife of John L. Clatterbuck, after a long illness, died Sept 13th 1910. Francis Reynolds was born March 22nd 1846; was married to John L. Clatterbuck March 19, 1862. To this union was born 10 children, six sons and four daughters, namely; J. William, Baxter, Robert W. Waller, Horton, and Mesdames Samuel Hudson, Ora Smith and Carl Wilson. The deceased joined the Dry Fork Baptist Church 1863 and was ever a consistent member. Funeral services at Dry Fork chruch by Rev. W. H. Burnham; internment at same place. The six sons acted as pall-bearers. Besides the husband and children she leaves one sister, Mrs. Robert Emmons of Guthrie, to mourn her death. Mrs. Clatterbuck was a sister of the late James Reynolds.
