      Tribute for a True Friend

In the passing of J.W. Clatterbuck, cashier of the Guthrie Bank at his home in Guthrie, Missouri, a good noble man has gone to his eternal reward.

Mr. Clatterbuck or Willie, as he was affectionately called by any of his friends, was a sincere Christian a helpful friend to may who went to him for advice, and a true gentleman in every sense of the word. His faith was beautiful. The entire community is saddened by the sudden and unexpected passing of this noble man. His devoted wife, who was Miss Pearl Holt before her marriage is inconsolably grief-striken over the loss of her companion.

Mr. Clatterbuck loyalty to God was a glowing example of just what the kindredship between a man and his Heavenly Father should be. The world is better for his having lived in it, and his memory will be cherished until we meet him over there. I cannot say, and will not say that he is dead. He is just away. With a cheery smile and a wave of a hand, he has wondered into an unknown land. Leaving us dreaming how very fair it needs must be since he's entered there. And you, who the wildest yearn for the old-time step and the glad return, think of him faring on as dear in the love of there, as the love of here; Think of him still the same, I say, he is not dead, he is just away.
