Clatterbuck Richard, Alice Guy
      Richard Clatterbuck
      and
      Alice Guy

Richard Clatterbuck was born approximately 1690 in Caroline County Virginia. He married Alice Guy. She was purportedly kidnapped by Indians as a child and was later returned when she was a young young woman. There is very little know about Richard and Alice and most is speculative. Most of what is known is from the legal record. In 1722, Richard and Alice brought an action of trespass and assault against Robert Taliaferro. In 1738 a debt was owed to Richard and Alice for attendance at a lawsuit (jury duty). It was paid in 75 pounds of tobacco. There are several other references to a Richard Clatterbuck/Clutterbuck in the record, but it is not know whether the later entries are this Richard or his son. The father of Richard Clatterbuck is thought to be John Clutterbuck who came from Bartley, Hampshire, England.
