Born on January 6, 1961 in Saint John, NB, she was a daughter of Bill McHarg and the late Jude (Graham) McHarg. Susan was the Head Supervisor at Shoppers Drug Mart on Main Street, Fredericton. Besides her husband and her father, she is survived by two sons, Scott Mullin (Teri-Lynn) of Saint John West and Spencer Mullin of Quispamsis; three step-children, Heather Burns Mann (Adrien) of Fredericton, Kimberly Burns of Fredericton and Michael Burns of Fredericton; one sister, Janice Bourgoin (Victor) of Dieppe; one brother, Wayne McHarg (Michelle Geldart) of Moncton; one niece, Kristen; two nephews, Mitchell McHarg of Moncton and Brett; three aunts, Ann Graham, Dawn Lang and Barbara Bennett; one uncle, Bernard McHarg (Josephine) and her maternal grandmother, Mary Ellen Graham (Perry) of Saint John. In addition to her mother, she was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Fred and Mary (Higgins) McHarg; her maternal grandfather, Pat Graham and her aunt, Marie Holmes. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Monday, May 29th from 7 to 9 pm. She is survived by four daughters, Lorraine Gallant of Summerside, P.E.I., Dorothy Gallant of Havelock, Freda Gosling (Walter) of New Market, Ont., and Sharon Arsenault of Saint John; five sons, Joseph Gallant (Marjorie) of Saint John, Ernie Gallant (Marg) of Barrie, Ont., Frank Gallant (Irene) of Dundalk, Ont., Peter Gallant of Ontario, and Rick Arsenault (Diane) of Cumberland Bay, 27 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Maurice Gallant and her second husband, Albert Arsenault, daughter, Violet Campbell, granddaughter, Cindy Gallant, sisters, Della Perry, Lena Condon, Mary Gallant, Catherine Dunlop, Bernice Pineau and brothers, Louis Wedge, Anthony Wedge, and Peter Wedge. The death of Mrs. Anne C. Barrett, of 4251 Loch Lomond Rd., widow of John J. Barrett, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday August 9, 1998. Born in Newcastle, N.B., she was a daughter of the late James D. and Roberta (Bernard) McCafferty. She spent most of her life in Moncton, N.B., and moved to Saint John in the early seventies. She worked for the Telephone Company in Moncton prior to her marriage to John J. Barrett, and after her family was grown, she worked on the switchboard of the Hospital Annex and the Moncton City Hospital. She was an active member of the C.W.L. in St. Augustine's Parish in Moncton, and received a fifty year pin from the C.W.L. of St. Joseph's Parish in Saint John. Anne was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by one son, John (Nancy),of Fredericton, N.B., two daughters, Sister Sandra Barrett SCIC, of Saint John, and Barbara Mac-Donald, of Moncton, N.B., six grandchildren, Gregory Barrett, Kelly Barrett, Jason (Christine) MacDonald, Matthew MacDonald (fiance, Haley Rogers), Patricia Jordan, and Heather Jordan, four great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Helen Barrett, Brother-in-law, Edmund LeBlanc, several cousins, nieces, and nephews, and Michael's mother, Judy. Born in Maastrict, Holland she is the daughter of the late Dominicus Hubertus & Anna (Jalhaij) Jongen. She emigrated to Canada in 1954 and worked as an attendant at Centracare Inc. Annette is survived by her daughter Ann Langstroth and her husband Les of Quispamsis, NB, two sons, Peter and his wife Teanie of Hampton, NB and Donald and his wife Norma of Saint John, NB, one sister Truss of Holland, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter Tina Saunders in 1989. By request of the family there was no visitation at the funeral home. A private family service of remembrance was held in the chapel of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (506-634-7424) on Tuesday, August 11th, 1998. Rev. Fr. Tom Fowler officiated.

LANGELL, VELMA L. - At the Saint John Regional Hospital on August 10, 1988, Velma Louise Langell, of 489 Windsor Street, Saint John West, widow of Ralph E. Langell. Born in Woodstock, N.B., she was a daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Tilley) Crawford. Mrs. Langell was a Nurse by profession and at the time of her retirement had been employed at the Dr. W. F. Roberts Hospital School.

She is survived by one brother, Archie Crawford of Newcastle, Ontario; one sister, Marjorie Hall, Sherbrooke, Quebec; several nieces and nephews; and Darlene Kearney and her children.

By Velma's request there will be no visiting at the Funeral Home. Friends are welcome to attend a Memorial Service to be held at "Fallsview" Chapel of the "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue (634-1701), on Monday with Service at 2 p.m. Donations to St. Mark's United Church, Canadian Red Cross, Canadian Cancer Society and New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Born in Woodstock, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Paul and Dorothy (nee Augerton) Bowlin and wife of John B. Beaubien of Burton. Mary Ann was employed as a telecommunicator for 31 years with the Department of National Defence. The majority of which was at CFB Gagetown. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and friend and will be truly missed. Mary Ann is survived by her husband John and their children: Brian Beaubien and his wife Linda of Salisbury, N.B., Daniel Beaubien and his wife Ann of Moncton, N.B., Peter Beaubien and his wife Betty of Fredericton, N.B., Sheryl Kozel and her husband Tom Bordon, Ont., and Cindy Faubert and her husband Glen of Oromocto, N.B., brothers: Claude (Bud) Bowlin and his wife Ella of Skiff Lake, N.B., Patrick Bowlin and his wife Noreen of Orillia, Ont., and Charles Bowlin and his wife Giselle of Saint John, N.B., brother-in-law Louis Goguen of Cocagne, N.B., and 15 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Peter Bowlin and sister Frances Goguen. The family will receive visitors at the Oromocto Funeral Home on Friday, August 14th, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 15th, from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Father Don Savoie will officiate. Born October 12, 1921 in Hampton, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Richard and Margaret (Pearson) Bovaird, and step-daughter of the late Alice Glen Bovaird. Jessie was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary, Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 24, Hampton and a long-standing member of the Eastern Star. She and her husband, Lloyd, owned and operated Brown's Supermarket for many years. Jessie is survived by son, Richard (Lori), Dartmouth; daughter, Sandra (Tom) Beaver, Lower Sackville; grandchildren, Richard (Tracy) Brown, Stephanie (Malcolm) Toynbee, Angela Beaver, Glenn McIsaac, Erin (Matt) McIsaac; great-grandchildren, Fiona and Deidre Toynbee, Madison and Camden Brown, Luke Cameron; many nieces and nephews. He played on the Mispec All-stars Baseball Team. He is survived by three sons: William (Karen Crozier) of Saint John; Michael (Cathy) of Mispec; Earle (Sherry) of Windsor, ON; one daughter, Marjorie (Albert) Seely of Mispec; six grandchildren, Andrew (his special pal), Shirley, Misty (Bill Somers) Ryan, all of Saint John, Tammy Young (Doug), Will (Nicole), of Windsor, ON, two great-granddaughters Savana and Dakohta, also best friend Agnes Dobbson, and several brothers and sisters in-law, nieces and nephews. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Fred, at the age of 72, on June 3, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by his family. Fred leaves behind his wife, Florence 'Flo' (Hamilton) Bishop; son Scott (Elaine); daughter, Sharon Soucy (Dennis); granddaughters, Melanie Soucy, Kelsey, Jessica and Danielle Bishop. He was the son of the late Frederick and Dorothy (Coates) Bishop. He graduated from Simmonds High School and chose and loved Bus Driving. His passion for Bus Driving and the Irving Family was very strong and he would drive Mrs. J. K. Irving and the children to Bouctouche, NB, on many occasions. He left driving for a short time to work for Social Services and JDI Sawmills, only to find the passion for bus driving was too strong and returned to the Bus Company where he drove up to a month ago. He coached Atom and Juvenile hockey at the KV Arena for many years. He was the Past Master of the St. Martins Masonic Lodge #30 for 2 terms. Surviving are brothers, Bill (Norma), David (Barb), Daryl (Nancy), Donnie (Sandra) and Mike (Sue); sisters, Betty Kimball, Carol Dixon (Malcolm), Marilyn Fanjoy (Harold) and many cousins, nieces and nephews; and his extended family-the Drivers of SMT now Acadian Lines. He was predeceased by his sister Joan Murray. Resting at Brenans Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634- 7424), with visiting on Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Barbour for a number of years. She was a member of the Wesley United Church, Brown's Flat and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by two step sons, Ralph Billingsley and his wife Viola of Campbellton, Maxwell Billingsley and his wife Terry of Douglastown, two step daughters, Inez Clayton of Wells, N.B., Bessie McDonald of Douglastown, N.B., three nephews, Derek Hazelwood, Reg Hazelwood, Donald Clowater, and one niece, Helen. He was an avid outdoorsman and was involved in hockey, baseball and golf. Surviving in addition to his parents, one brother, D. Jeffery Bishop of Toronto, one sister, Janice Louise Ruggles and her husband James of Stoney Creek, Ont., one niece, Georgia Leigh Ruggles, several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was born on May 30, 1914, at Skiff Lake, NB, the daughter of the late Harry and Maud Dunbar. A resident of Saint John, she was a charter member of the I.O.D.E. Saint John Chapter, a founding director of the Kindness Club of New Brunswick, a director and later president of the Union Club of Saint John, a past member of the Riverside Golf and Country Club and later the Westfield Golf and Country Club, a committee chairperson of the Rotary World Youth Conference in 1958 which brought young people from all over the world to Saint John. She was a member of St. John Baptist (Mission Church) and St. Clement on Millidge Ave in Saint John. She thoroughly enjoyed her family, her many friends, and her cottage at Skiff Lake. She considered Skiff Lake her home, her special place, as this was the gathering place for her family all of her life. Proud of her Scottish heritage, she enjoyed telling her children, and later her grandchildren, stories and legends of their ancestors around the campfire by the lake. She is survived by her son Robert (Barbara) Bonnell of Montreal, her daughters Frances Doyle and Jeanne Keating (Michael) of Saint John, her grandchildren Mark Bonnell (Franisca), Kim Bonnell Hubner (Bryce), Brian Doyle, Barry Doyle (Andrea), Karen Keating Small (Michael), Kelly Keating Boyd (Ian), Jan Keating LeBlanc (Mark), Peter Keating, her 11 great-grandchildren, her brother Grant Dunbar (Doreen), sister-in-law Adeline Dunbar and many nieces and nephews. Pauline Nina Bryant, of Woodstock, passed away at Carleton Manor in Woodstock on Friday, August 7, 1998, at the age of 78. Pauline is survived by her husband, Douglas Bryant, two sons, Robert Bryant and his wife Ruth of Woodstock, David Bryant and his wife Jennifer of Toronto, Ont., one daughter, Carol Stockford and her husband, Wesley of Northampton, two sisters, Ruth Maxwell of Sussex, N.B., and Phyllis Rae of Rothesay, N.B., three grandchildren, four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Francis Emmett Burke of 1595 Grandview Avenue, Saint John, husband of Donna (Hachey) Burke, was held from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John where the service was conducted by Father Gerry White. The organist, Barry Snodgrass accompanied the soloist Elaine Maloney. Honorary Pallbearers were: George Byrnes, Gerry Gorman, Murray Goodwin, Norm McHugh, George Pelletier, Clyde Pelletier, Jack McNamara, Bob McLeod and Frank Totten. Active Pallbearers were: Tom Flemming, Eugene Blois, Sonny McGovern, Ken Sussey, Richard Savard and Lloyd Gallant. Among the many floral tributes received were those from the Allison Group and Members of Saint John Shipbuilidng Limited, Local 213. Donations were made to the Canadian Cancer Society; Children's Wish Foundation; Church of St. Andrews and St. David and Saint John Regional Hospital. Following Cremation, interment took place at St. Joseph's Cemetery.

The death of Mrs. Lorraine T. Calhoun of Hillcrest Village, wife of the late Lester Calhoun occurred on Sunday, September 6, 1998 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Astle, N.B., a daughter of the late Robert L. and Daisey (Astle) Palmer. Mrs. Calhou had been employed with the D.V.A and Dr. Roberts Hospitals in the house keeping department. She was also a member of St. Giles Church in Martinon as well as the Ladies Auxillary of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #22, Grand Bay. Mrs. Calhoun is survived by one son, Fred (Brenda) of Courtney, B.C, one daughter Ann Larabee and companion Kevin of Saint John and three brothers Robin (Faye) and Claude (Clara) of Boiestown, N.B., and Gerald (Roberta) of Saint Johh. She is also survived by grandchildren Corey, Melissa, Robbie and Shelly, great grandchildren, Brittney and Natalie, along with several cousins, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a son Robert, a brother Willard and a sister Evelyn. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Chapel, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425) from where the service will be held on Friday, September 11, 1998 at 11 a.m. followed by interment in Astle Cemetery at 3 p.m. Visiting will be held on Wednesday and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Remembrances to the N.B. At 99 years of age, Bessie Campbell, wife of the late A. Finlay Campbell, left this life on September 1, 1998 at the home of her daughter Peggy Fenety in Fredericton. Born in Arlington, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Charles R. and Margaret (McNaughton) Forbes. She was a former resident of Glenwood, King's County, N.B. and 111 Sydney Street, Saint John. She is survived by one daughter, Peggy Fenety of Fredericton; four grandchildren, Steven Fenety and his wife Bernadette of Fredericton, Daniel Fenety of Charlottetown, PEI, Joan Fenety and husband Gerry Lenihan of New Maryland and Amy Fenety and husband Duane Gullison of New Maryland and their father Bill Fenety of Minto; three great grandchildren, Erin Fenety, Dylan and Alana Gullison. Although there will be no visitation, friends are invited to attend the funeral service which will be held at the Wesley United Church, Brown's Flat, King's County, N.B. on Thursday, September 3, 1998 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Born in Saint John, a daughter of the late David James and Marie Amelia (Pallen) Lockhart. Mrs. Campbell had been employed with the Tuberculosis Hospital and then with Scovil Bros. She was a highly dedicated supporter of the Senior Citizens Center, having held the offices of Treasurer, Secretary, and President and at the time of her death was a member of the Board of Directors. Mrs. Campbell is survived by three sons; Donald M. (Barbara), and David, both of Saint John, Kenneth (Anne) of Ottawa, three brothers, Kenneth of Sussex, Howard (Jean) of Quispamsis, and John (Peggy) of Saint John, one sister, Barbara, Mrs. Arthur Barry of Saint John, also three grandchildren, Devon Kerridge-Campbell and Peter and Barbara June Rye, as well as several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a son, Gerald, two brothers, Norman and David, and one sister, Verna Roussie. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, from where the service will be held on Thursday, September 10, 1998, at 2:15p.m. followed by interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Ethel Carten, wife of the late Leo C. Carten, died at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Monday, September 7, 1998. Born in Chatham, N.B., September 19, 1905, she was the daughter of the late William and Susan (Creamer) Carroll. She was predeceased by her husband and three brothers, Noonan, of Los Angeles, California, Roger of Chatham and Benson, of Fredericton. She is survived by two sisters, Marie Keoughan, of River Glade, and Clare Carroll of Fredericton. There will be no visitation held by request of the family. A memorial mass will be celebrated from St. Anthony's Church on Wednesday., September 9 at 2 p.m. Interment will take place in the Hermitage Cemetery at a later date. It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Marie Phyllis Chase at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Saturday, June 3rd, 2006 at the age of 84. Marie was born in Jemseg, NB on October 21st, 1921, the daughter of the late C. Onslow and Lily (Bailey) Purdy. Marie attended schools in Jemseg, Saint John High School and the Provincial Normal School. She spent most of her life as a caring homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. The church was a very important part of Marie's life. She was an active member of Brunswick Street Baptist Church, the Harriett Clark Chapter of WMS, Bible Study Group and the Quilting Club. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Fred; son, Rick (Sheila); daughter, Linda Fallon (Paul); grandchildren, Craig, Cynthia and Shelby; great-grandchildren, Cara, Abbey and Jack. Also surviving are sister, Isabel Shields of Victoria, BC; and brother, Tom Purdy of Halifax, NS; as well as several nieces and nephews. Marie was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Ted Purdy; and her sister, Jean Belyea. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 5th, 2006 at McAdams Select Community Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. 74 passed away at the Grand Manan Hospital on Saturday, July 8, 2006. Born in White Head he was the son of the late Harold and Irene (Trecartin) Cossaboom of White Head, N. B. Colby was a true and seasoned fisherman and fished many different types of fish according to the season and the various quotas available at the time. In 1984 he opened and operated Whole Family Fisheries Plant until his retirement in 1998. He was a very community spirited person and participated in Men's Baseball, coached the Ladies Softball Team for several years, he played in the community musical group called The Saturday Nighters and entertained at all Island functions and spent many trips to the Grand Manan Nursing Home to entertain the residents. He always found a Crib game to play or a good old fashioned political argument in which to participate. He was also a lifetime member of the White Head Baptist Church and sang in the choir in his younger years. He is survived by his wife Audrey G. (Thompson) Cossaboom and they celebrated their Fiftieth anniversary last year. Three daughters Gertrude Torralva (Armando) , Texas. Jean Louise Rushton (Larry), Victoria Corner, N.B., Margaret A. Small (Jamie), White Head, N.B., one son Harold W. (Sharon), White Head, N.B., as well as eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends and relatives on Monday at the White Head Baptist Church, 2 to 4, 7 to 9 pm, the funeral service will be held on Tuesday from the church at 2 pm with Pastor Jim Appleby officiating, interment to follow in the family plot White Head Community Cemetery. Gertrude L. Bowser-29 died about 23 Oct 1992 in Worchester Co, MA.

Gertrude L. (Estabrooks) Bowser, 86, of 173 Beacon St. died yesterday in the home of a son after a long illness. Her husband, Trueman V. Bowser, died in 1969. She leaves a son, Ellsworth A. Bowser of Clinton; four brothers, Norman, Jack, Vernon and Frank Estabrooks; a sister, Marjorie Crossman, all of Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild; nephews and nieces. She was born in Sackville, daughter of Louis and Louise (Wigmore) Estabrooks, and lived here about 66 years.
She was a spooler at ITT Suprenant Co. for 25 years, retiring in 1970. She was previously a stitcher at the former Eastern Isles Co. Mrs. Bowser was a member of First Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Watson Funeral Home, 149 Water St. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are 1 to 2 p.m. Monday. W. Harvey Cochrane of Kingston, husband of Marilyn (Saunders) Cochrane died August 9, 1998 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born at Elmhurst, son of the late William and Gertrude (Wheaton) Cochrane. He was a lifelong resident of the area. He was an active lifelong member of Kingston United Baptist Church where he served as Deacon for many years. Harvey worked at a grocery store in Gondola Point for a number of years, was a salesman for Watkins Products and was also engaged in farming. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Susan Jones-Beaulieu of Hampton and Tammy Jones of Saint John; one great grandson, Josh Beaulieu; one sisters, Anna Belyea of Brown's Flat; three nieces and one great nephew. He was predeceased by his first wife, Edna (Waddell) Cochrane and two sisters, Gertrude Steele and Sadie Morrell. Resting at Reid's Funeral Home (832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton.
