A considerable part of Company H, in this three-years’ regiment, was composed of Carbon County men.  Following is the roster:

to Sergt. July 17, 1862; to 1st Sgt. July 1, 1863; to 2nd Lieut. June 14, 1864; to captain Feb. 13, 1865.

Paroled Feb. 22, 1865, served to war’s end.

 

West, Emory             1st Lt.

Enlisted Sept. 24, 1861.  Promoted from private to 1st Sgt. July 17, 1862; to

2nd Lt. July 1, 1863; to 1st Lt. Jan. 14, 1864.  Mustered out Oct. 18, 1864.

 

Moore, Philip B.       1st Lt.

Enlisted Aug. 4, 1861, re-enlisted Nov. 18, 1863 and served to war’s end.

Promoted to Sgt. March 28, 1864; 2nd Lt. Oct. 18, 1865; 1st Lt. April 1, 1865.

 

Albee, Simeon          2nd Lt.

Enlisted Sept. 24, 1861, re-enlisted Nov. 18, 1863, served to war's end.

Promoted to corporal Aug. 28, 1864; to Sgt. Sept. 9, 1864; 1st Sgt. Feb. 1, 1865; 2nd Lt. April 1, 1865.

 

Sisty, Curtis F.          1st Sgt

Enlisted Aug. 17, 1861.  Re-enlisted Jan. 1, 1864. 

Died while on furlough at his home in Nesquehoning Jan. 1865.

 

Brighton, John           Sgt.

Enlisted Sept. 24, 1861, re-enlisted Nov. 13, 1863.  

Promoted corporal March 28, 1864; to sgt. Aug 28, 1864. 

Discharged from United States Hospital.

 

Bean, John                 Cpl.

Enlisted Sept. 23, 1861, re-enlisted Jan. 1, 1864.

Killed by guerillas near Smithfield, Va., Feb. 13, 1865.

 

West, Coursen          Cpl.

Enlisted Aug. 4, 1861.  Mortally wounded by guerillas, Aug. 31, 1862. 

This man was wounded while making a daring reconnaissance of the enemy's position at Black River.

Died Sept. 18, 1862.
