Brick Walls
My Brick Walls

Hi & welcome to the brick walls section of my site. This page is for all the pesky genealogical brick walls I'm trying to get past right now. A genealogical brick wall is when you come to a point in your family tree where you can't go back any farther. Of course no one can trace their family tree back to the beggining of time, but we certainly want to go as far back as possible. Unfortunetly some of us hit brick walls early on in our research. For example, on my maternal grandpa's side, going straight back through the males I can only get as far as my great-great-grandpa. I have some ideas as to who my great-great-great grandpa & grandma were, but I have heard many diff. theories & neither of them have really been proven to my knowledge. Some theories offer both a male & female name where some only offer the man's name. Hopefully, some day I will know who both of them were. I am listing some of my brick walls below under their respective surnames. If any of you have any information that can help take down my brick walls please let me know! Thanks. :)

Thacker alias Farrell or Ferrell
I am looking for information concerning the father of LaVicy Thacker alias Farrell or Ferrell. She also went by Lavisa, Levisa, and Vicy. Her mother was Nancy Cook wife of Jesse P. Thacker, but her father was not Jesse. Jesse was in prison when Nancy became pregnant with Vicy by a man with the last name of Ferrell or Farrell. I do not know his first name and have no idea what his lineage could be. Any help here would be much appreciated.

Mosley
I am searching for information regarding the parents of Nathaniel F. Mosley (may be spelled Mosely or Moseley also) and his sisters Mahalia (or Mahala) Mosely Branham and Adeline (or Adoline or Adaline) Mosley Gearheart. Mahala's married name was Branham, but she also went by Branham before her marriage for awhile because she was the ward of a Branham. Her marriage bond lists her as Mosely though. Nathaniel and his sisters are said to be 1/2 Cherokee and his family is said to have came from TN. Some people say his parents were Henry Mosley / Mosely / Moseley ( FPC ) and Rebecca Jones of TN. Other family members say that the Mosleys got their name from William or MC or WC "Blackhawk" or "Black Hawk" Mosley. Could it be that Henry was Nathaniel's father and William was a grandfather or something? I don't know.
