She was the eighth of nine children of DAVE D. McCORQUODALE and IDA DUNN.

Gladys moved with her family to Orange County, Texas, where she married Harry B. Ready.

She and Harry had two children:

Harry Boyd Ready, Jr., born 22 September 1918 in McNary, Rapides Parish, Louisiana

Winfred Reeves Ready, born 31 October 1926 in Orange, Orange County, Texas.

1920 Rapides Parish, Louisiana Soundex

Gladys died on 10 May 1961 in Orange, Orange County, Texas.

She is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Orange, Orange County, Texas.
