We believe George Washington to be the son of William Carmack, b. 1784, per Dan Buck's notes in Mormon Library.
William Carmack married Rosanna Wheeler. William Carmack was the son of Cornelius Carmack, b. 1750, d. 1820, m. Mary Cookson, 1778. William Carmack was the son of John Carmack, b. 1720,d. 1810, m. Elizabeth Barton. John Carmack was the son of Cornelius Carmack, b. 1681 Frederick, MD. , d. 1749 in Manacocy, VA. M. Guin Correm in 1715.

It is gratifying to see so many Carmacks are able to trace their roots all the way back to Cornelius 1. I have not been so fortunate. My line is as follows: John Carmack b. 1751-1760 (Henry Co. TN Census 1830 Lists John as 60+. also probate record of death, 1833, Henry Co.) William Carmack b. 1785 North Carolina. Married Sarah b.1791 NC. Settled in Henry Co. TN prior to 1830. Green(e) L. Carmack B. 1837 Henry Co. Tn. Married Nancy E. Claxton Oct.31 1869 in Henry Co. Living in Weakley Co. TN in 1880. Nancy next found in Dunklin Co. MO. in 1900. James Ruben Carmack b. 1872 TN, died Dunklin Co. MO 1910 (lightning strike) married Lula Warren May 16, 1894, Dunklin Co. My husband is the Carmack Descendant, so far the lines I have proven are:
1. Abraham T. Carmack, born 02/06/1860 and died
08/12/1932, Harrogate, Tennessee. Married Martha Snavely in Claiborne County, TN
in 1878.
2. Ninnie Dell Carmack b. 05/30/1890 and d. 11/29/1955 in Harrogate, TN. married
Robert Kyle Fleemon on 02/25/1905 in Little Creek, TN.
3. Ona Lee Fleemon b. 05/05/1813 and d. 05/05/1998 in Rockwood, TN, buried in
Harrogate, TN. Married Raymond Berwell Thomas on 03/02/1929 in Fonde, Kentucky.
(Harrogate is very close to Kentucky line).
4. Maymie Ruth Thomas married Donald Ray Nealon, Sr.
5. David Wayne (my Husband) and Donald Ray Nealon, Jr. (his brother).
We believe that the line back from Abraham T. is as follows:

I know hardly anything of my Carmack history. My dad does not know much about his father. Interestingly, his father's name was Edward Ward Carmack, and I have seen several of those on lists you all have sent around. I am just getting into the Carmack geneology. Does anybody know where I come from?

Samuel B. Carmack, b NC, is found on the 1840
Edgecombe Co., NC Census in Dist 6, page 23, on Census film M704 Roll # 360. In
his household is listed one (1) male 20 and under 30 yrs of age, one (1) male 30
and under 40 yrs of age and one (1) female 20 and under 30 yrs of age. I found
him about 8 lines above his Mother-in-law, Sally Davis, head of her household,
who was widowed, Dec 31, 1839. After the 1840 census, this Carmack family
moves to Coffee County, TN., as well as some of the Davis family and are on the
Coffee Co., 1850 census. My Carmack family is found on the Hardeman Co, TN
1860 census and Gibson Co., TN on the 1870 Census. Samuel B. and wife, Mary G.,
are not found on a census after 1870. Assume that they died around Gibson co.,
TN. After 1870, MY direct ancestor, William Franklin Carmack, 6th child of
8 born to Samuel B. and Sarah "Sally" Green Carmack, is found in
Crockett Co., TN on the 1880 census. Three of his siblings move on to White
County AR. and are found there on the 1880 census. We have a pretty good handle
on the descendants of Samuel B. after 1840 but have yet to find his
ancestors. William Franklin Carmack moved to Lauderdale Co., TN and raised
his family there. Many descendants of this family reside in that area
today. There are descendants of his siblings still living in the AR,
Little Rock area today.
We would love to find parents for our Samuel B. Carmack, b abt 1808 in NC.
