Trial 1

Jonathan Whiting's life and trial in England, before 1823
There are many Whitings still living in the County of Kent and in the major city of Maidstone. Maidstone is the County town and
was first recognised as a town and borough in 1551. More research is needed on the family below and this is underway.

We believe Jonathan Whiting was the eldest child of John Whiting and his wife Jane (surname possibly Blunt) who married in approx.
1802. Their children were:
Jonathan, born 26 September 1805 in Yalding, christened 17 November 1805, also at Yalding
Solomon, born 23 September 1807, christened 29 November 1807, Yalding
Oliver, born 14 August 1809, Kent
Elizabeth Jane, born c.1813 Kent, christened 28 May 1813, Maidstone
Henry, born c.1817 Kent, christened 2 November, 1817, Maidstone
