Receipe for Olive Cherries

Olive Cherries

2 quarts cherries (pie cherries)
2 T. white mustard seed
4 cups white vinegar
1 t. allspice
1/2 cup sugar
1 T. cinnamon
1 T. salt
1 T. whole cloves

Wash cherries, but don't stem. Pack into hot sterilized jars. Combine remaining incredients; cookuntil sugar dissolves. Cool and pour over cherries in jars.
Makes 4 pints.

Do not use ball or other metal lids. Instead, use a jar with a glass top. The vinegar will eat right through metal lids in a very short time--it is not diluted!
