Marcus Lafayette Allen was born January 12, 1861, in the State of Texas (per his death certificate). Marcus died on August 14, 1951. He is buried in Franklin Cemetery with his second wife, Elizabeth Bowling. Marcus was also known as Trouble Allen. Marcus married first to Kate Keyes, daughter of Mr and Mrs E W Keyes, of Reeves Station, Gordon County, GA. They were married on October 7, 1888, at the residence of D. B. Clark in Reeves Station. There were no children born into this marriage. Kate was born abt 1869 and died December 20, 1905 from consumption. The obituary I found states her brother Sam Keyes died the day she was buried. |
