Sad Accidents–– On Tuesday, the 13h, Mr. Long, one of our subscribers, met with a shocking and fatal accident. He went into Stou’s mill, near Gilboa, Putnam county, for the purpose of grinding his scythe; and while arranging the belt to the grindstone, his clothing was caught by another belt, and he was whirled around the shaft, which was making about ninety reveloutions a minute, breaking every bone in his body, and killing him instantly. The miller, hearing the thumping noise, supposed some of the machinery was out of order, and he stopped the mill, and going into the room where Long was, found him, a mangled mass, entagled in the machinery. He was buried Friday. The deceased leaves a wife and several children to mourn his loss.
