96WESTON - Marie A. Baker, 83, of Center Street, died Saturday (Sept. 26, 1998) in Wood County Hospital.
She baked sugar cookies for the former Homer Frank's restaurant in Bowling Green and was a cook at Weston School, retiring in 1977.
Mrs. Baker was a member of Weston First United Methodist Church and Ladies of the Elks, Bowling Green. She was a former treasurer of the Otsego Band Boosters.
Born Sept. 6, 1915 in Bowling Green to Sanford L. and Lucy A. (Long) Sly, she married Clarence E. "George" Baker Oct. 18, 1934. He died on April 9, 1987.
Two sisters, Alice Sly and Helen Businger, also preceded her in death.
Surviving are four sons, Lloyd, Florence, Ore.; William, Weston; Richard, Toledo; and Danny, Phoenix; two daughters, Barbara Rivera, Pittsburg, Calif., and Sue Hoile, Dyess Air Force Base, Texas; one brother, William Sly, Buckeye, Ariz.; 20 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in the church. Burial will be in Weston Cemetery. Rev. Richard Darby will officiate.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home, Bowling Green.
Memorials may be made to the scholarship fund of the Ladies of the Elks.
