Had Been Ill Three Years and Patient Several Times at Fayetteville
Hospital
Henry Benton Maggard, 63, a retired railroad employee and
World War I veteran,died at 7 yesterday morning at the family home
on Larussell route 1. He had been ill three years, Mr. Maggard had
been a patient several times in the veteran's hospital, Fayetteville,Ark.
He was born April 3, 1891,in Salina,Okla. He was married in
Pryor, Okla.,to Veda Briggle on Nov. 4, 1924. The last nine years
Mr. and Mrs. Maggard had lived on Larussell route 1.
Surviving are his wife; six sons,Eugene Maggard, Springfield;
Cecil Maggard, Augusta,Kas., Joe Maggard, Sarcoxie route 2, and
Eddie, Roy and James Maggard of the home; three daughters, Mrs.
Glenn Patrick, route 1, Mrs. Florence Patrick, Carthage and Beulah
Maggard of the home; five brothers, William Maggard, Augusta,Kas.,
Monroe Maggard of Texas, Troy Maggard, Kansas City, Albert Maggard,
Bradleyville, Mo., and Frank Maggard, Boise City, Okla.; two sisters,
Mrs. Elizabeth Dollarhyde, Leach, Okla., and Mrs. Eva Maggard of
Pierce City and six grandchildren.
The body is at the Ulmer funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 Thursday afternoon at the
Assembly of God church in Reeds. Burial will be in Reeds cemetery.

| Graveside services for
Roy Maggard, 61,Stockton who died August 21 at his home, were conducted
at 2p.m. Saturday at the Reeds Cemetery.
The Rev. Kenneth Holman officiated and Mr. and Mrs. Willard
Taylor sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "One Day At a Time."
Pallbearers were Sam Maggard, Art Maggard, Alvin Maggard and
Dean Maggard.
Arrangements were under the direction of Ulmer Funeral Home.
Two brothers, David Lingenfelter and Willard Lingenfelter,
both of Carthage were previousley omitted from the list of survivors.

Mrs. Leona Marie
Maggard, 50, Reeds Route 1, died at 4:45 a.m. today at McCune-Brooks
Hospital where she had been a patient since Nov. 25. She had been
failing in health the last year.
Born Sept. 21, 1924, she had resided in the Reeds area her
lifetime, and was married to Joseph Daniel Maggard on Nov. 18, 1947,
in Carthage, who survives.
Additional survivors include two sons Rex Maggard and Clarence
Maggard of the home; her father Harvey Patrick of Carthage; six
brothers Glenn Patrick, Route 1, Gene Patrick, route 2, Raymond
Patrick and Tony Patrick, both of LaRussell; Kenneth Patrick, Avilla,
aand Otis Patrick, Carthage; four sisters Mrs. Velma Llewellyn,
Springfield, Miss Shirley Patrick, Mrs. Virginia Phillips and Miss
Thelma Patrick, all of Carthage.
Arrangements will be announced by the Ulmer Funeral Home.

69, Springfield died at 8:03 p.m. Sunday in Cox Medical Center North
after a long illness.
Gene was born April 27, 1923, to Henry and Vida Maggard. He
was a WWII Army Veteran and self-employed masonry contractor, retiring
in 1987.
Survivors include his wife Dorothy; three daughters, Delores
Weaver, Carol Yocum and Tersa Tarteuaar; four brothers, Cecil, Roy,
Eddie and Joe; three sisters, Esther Patrick, Florence Patrick and
Beulah Clapper; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in White Chapel
Memorial Gardens with Rev. Marvin Batson officiating under direction
of Thieme Colonial Chapel.

Funeral services
for Henry E. Maggard, 85, Bradleyville, who died Friday, will be
held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Union Flat Church near Bradleyville,
with Rev. Allen Ledbetter officiating. Burial will be in the Patterson
Cemetery under direction of Clinkingbeard of Ava.
He is survived by four sons, Alfred, Irvin and Lewis, Bradleyville,
and Willard, Boulder, Colo.; three daughters, Mrs. Laura Combs,
Homedale, Idaho, Mrs. Viola Kenyon and Mrs. Cindy Mourey, Wilder,
Idaho; one sister, Mrs. Raney Davis, Norton, Va.; one half-brother
Evans Maggard, Bigstone Gap, Va.; two half-sisters, Mrs. Nettie
Huff, Bigstone Gap, and Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Roberts, Norton.
| Frank Emery Maggard was born
July 28, 1908 in Missouri. He departed this life on March 31, 1991
at Boise City, Okla. He had attained the age of 82 years, 8 months
and 3 days.
He was married to Grace Tosh on June 11, 1930 at Pryor, Okla.
He was a member of the Pentecostal Holliness Church of Boise
City.
He had been a long-time employee of the Santa Fe Railroad.
He was retired from the Oklahoma State Highway Department.
A daughter, Ethel, and a son, Gilbert preceeded him in death.
He leaves mourn his passage: his wife Grace, three daughters,
Beulah Hill, of Boise City, Mozelle Mosier, of Wake, Tex., and Iva
Ruth Maggard, of Santa Fe, N.M.; two sons, Robert Maggard of Bloomfield,
N.M., and Albert Maggard, of Pampa, Tex.; 26 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren;
three great-great-grandchildren and a host of loved ones.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Apr. 3, 1991 at 10:30 a.m.
the Pentecostal Holliness Church with Rev. Roger Comstock officiating.
Burial was in the Boise City Cemetery. Services were by Cimarron
Mortuary.

Emanuel W. "Bill"
Maggard, 76, of 1311 Maple, died early Saturday morning (Dec. 10,
1983) at Coffeyville Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Maggard was born Feb. 12, 1907, at Branch, Mo., to Caleb
and Sarah (Pruett) Maggard. In 1910 he moved with his parents in
covered a wagon from Douglas County, Mo., to Mayes County, Okla.
The Family also lived in Arkansas. As a young man, Mr. Maggard was
a licensed minister and evangelist, serving several churches.
On July 8, 1933, he married Clara A. Wise at Siloam Springs,
Ark. Before moving to Cofeyville in 1948, the couple lived in California,
where Mr. Maggard worked in the shipyards. He was a journeyman electrician
in Coffeyville for 25 years with several electrical firms.
He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church of Coffeyville.
Survivors include five sons, Emanuel W. Jr. and Ronald, both
of Portland, Ore., Buddy Earl of Hippo, Kenneth of 1315 Maple St.,
and Harold of Sand Springs, Okla.; a brother, Charles of 103 E.
Second St.; a sister, Janie Cowan of Salina, Okla.; 16 grandchildren;
and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Ford-Wulf-Bruns
Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in the Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call aat the funeral home from 1 p.m. Monday until the
time of the service. The family suggests memorials to the American
Heart Association.
| Ava--Funeral services
for the Rev. Caleb B. Maggard, 81, a Missionary Baptist minister
in the Ava area for 58 years, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Clinkingbeard
Chapel with Rev. Ira Johnson officiating.
Mr. Maggard, a retired Ava farmer, died at 2:45 p.m. Saturday
in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Mavena Faye Hall, of 3234 West Washita,
Springfield, after a six month illness. He had been a member of
Mount Olive Baptist Church west of here for 61 years.
In addition to Mrs. Hall, survivors include five sons, Roy
of Rosevile, Calif., Arthur, Route 10, Springfield, Hiram, Route
4, Springfield, Glenn, 924 West Broadmoor, Springfield, and James,
Willard; seven other daughters, Mrs. Nora Stillings and Mrs. Inice
Lawrence, both of Ava, Mrs. Lois Fitzgerald, Bettendorf, Iowa, Mrs.
Tennie Williams, McPherson, Kan., and Mrs. Nina Mae Roberts, Willard,
Mrs. Gladys Huff, Gainsville, and Mrs. Frances Montgomery, Ozark;
one brother Silas, of Springfield, two half-brothers, Benton Maggard,
Springfield, and Enoch Maggard, Pleasant Hope; five half-sisters,
Mrs. Rosa Applegate, Springfield, Mrs. Edna Hawkins, Oldfield, and
Mrs. Vina Caudell, Mrs. Rhoda Thomas and Mrs. Maudie Nelson, all
of Ava; and 37 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren.
