| Local mechanic suddenly stricken at 38 SARCOXIE, Mo.-David Eugene Axtell, 38, Sarcoxie Route 2, died at 1:30 a.m. Saturday at McCune-Brooks Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack at his home. Born April 15, 1955, at Carthage, he was a self-employed auto mechanic and a memberof Jasper Baptist Church and the National Hot Rod Association Drag Racing Club. He was married Aug. 6, 1982, at Miami, Okla., to Carol Classen. She survives. Other survivors include a son Jeremy Axtell of the home; two daughters Trishia Axtell and Misti Axtell, both of the home; his mother Earlene Shaw, Avilla; two brothers Rick Axtell, Avilla, and Charles Axtell, Carthage; two step-brothers Ronald Shaw, Jasper, and Roger Shaw, state of Wisconsin; two sisters Patsy Hensley,Joplin, and Tammy Anderson, Carthage, and his maternal grandmother Marjorie Jones, Stoots City. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper. The Rev. Walter Horne will officiate. Burial will be in Avilla Cemetery. Carthage Press, |
