Annual Outing to Hunstanton

From the "Wisbech Standard", 10 August 1962

        Outing

The village was almost deserted on Tuesday week, it being the the annual outing to Hunstanton. Five
coaches conveyed the scholars from the Parish Church and Methodist Church Sunday Schools, with their
parents and friends. The weather was rather cold in the morning, but by mid-day the sun appeared and
the children enjoyed the sands and the sea for the remainder of the day. Leaving the village shortly
before 8 a.m. and after a break at Sandringham, the party arrived at Hunstanton about 9.15a.m. Here,
they divided into groups, each seeking their own pleasure. The return journey commenced at 7 p.m. and
party arrived home shortly before nine o'clock, everyone agreeing that it had been very enjoyable outing.

        Good Companion Club

At the fortnightly meeting of the Good Companion Club, held in the Old School on Friday, a very interesting
and useful talk was given by Fire officer Goodwin. The subject of the talk was "Fire Prevention in the Home."
Questions were asked , and Mr. Goodwin was thanked by the Chairman. At the short business session, Mr. F.
Russell (chairman) presided, assisted by Mrs. W. Lepla (secretary) and Mr. W.F. Chamberlain (treasurer).
Mr. F. Morley (vice-chairman) was absent through illness. Mrs H. Pate was pianist for the opening hymn, and
Birthday greetings were sung to Mrs. J. Lowe. The usual games were played ..........[end of print out]
