You know you're a Genealogy Addict when:-
You know you're a Genealogy Addict when:-
You brake for libraries and Records Offices,
You would rather sit in an old over grown churchyard, checking inscriptions
than visit a new shopping Centre
You would rather read an old dusty book of "Births, Deaths and Marriages"
than today's newspaper!
You frequently let out a big, "YES" over little bits and pieces
of information.
You've tracked down what happened to all your relatives throughout their whole
lives, but have no idea what is going on in the life of the people next door.
You are more interested in what happened in 1697 than 1997.
Moses, Dorcas and Caleb are household names, but you can't remember what to
call the dog!
You know the names of everyone in your local records office, but they lock the
doors when they see you coming.
You store your clothes under the bed, because your wardrobe is full of notebooks,
history books and papers.
You can sit for hours in front of the computer, without eating or talking to
anyone but yourself,
All your correspondence begins, "Dear Cousin."
Every new piece of information that arrives in the post makes you act like you
are opening a special birthday gift
You find yourself wanting to go see ALL the places your relatives ever lived.
You plan your family days-out around where your genealogy is located.
Eating, sleeping, shopping, and housework become a real nuisance.
You suffer serious withdrawal symptoms when you can't get to your computer to
see what new information has just come in !!!!
Long hours sitting in front of the computer doing research make the two of you
become as one.
You have traced every one of your ancestral lines back to Adam and Eve, have it
all documented, -- and still don't want to quit!
