My Gt Gt Grandmother, Catherine O'CONNOR was born abt 1821 in Bandon, Co. Cork. She married [I don't know where!] John WATSON [from West Norfolk] a soldier in The Royal Regiment in about 1853. He was probably stationed at the Garrison in Bandon at the time - but I still have to find John's military records. According to family legend, their daughter, my Gt Grandmother, Catherine WATSON, was bn in 1857 on a homeward-bound troopship from India, off Gibralter. This 2nd Catherine married my Gt Grandfather, Louis Henry PALMER, in Wisbech, Cambs, UK, on 11 March 1883. John & Catherine's other 2 children, John & William, both died young and are buried at Wretton, West Norfolk. Catherine O'CONNOR died 2 July 1897 in Wisbech. She is buried in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Wisbech very close to Emmanuel & Susannah. I'm afraid I know nothing else about Catherine O'Connor at the moment - not even if she had siblings! John & Catherine's children are:
John born Cephalonia, Greece 9 January 1854 died 5 September 1862 Catherine born Glasgow 2 July 1857 died 19 November 1940 William born Downham Market 13 Nov. 1859 died [of consumption] 17 December 1885 All these dates are from Catherine Watson PALMER's bible.
