Great Lemhill Farm 1870
GREAT LEMHILL FARM was formerly a detached portion of Oxon, but the Acts 2 and 3 Wm. IV., cap. 64, and 7 and 8 Vic., cap. 61, was annexed to the Eastern Division of Gloucestershire, and is in the Bampton hundred, Witney union, and Witney county court district, 8 miles from Faringdon station, 77 from London, and 2 from Lechdale. The Farm is in three parishes and counties, viz., Broughton Poggs in Oxford, Inglesham in Berks, and Lechdale in Gloucestershire. The soil is loam; subsoil, gravel. The chief crops are wheat, barley and oats. The population in 1861 was 26.Letters through Swindon, via Lechlade which is the nearest money order office.
