[406]

[409] On 6 Sept 1751 he purchased a piece of land "with the privilege oferecting a fulling mill and other necessary conveniences for thecarrying on of the trade of a clothier." This property was on theEast Aspetuck River which ran through the land north and south.

[410] It is probable that William and his two brothers, Nathaniel andStephen, went from Rehoboth to New Milford about 1744, a year beforeWilliam's marriage. In 1746 his father, Nathaniel Bosworth ofRehoboth, appointed William and Nathaniel to represent him in all hisbusiness affairs in CT. At that time, New Milford was still a part ofNew Haven County.

He apparently lived in that portion of New Milford that was set off tohelp form the new town of Washington.

[411] On Sept 20, 1751 his father deeded him 50 acres of land in the "NewMilford North Purchase". From 9 Jan 1754 to 13 Apr 1758 he owned 81/2 acres bounded by Capt. Nathaniel's land on one side, by StephenBosworth and his son James Wood Bosworth on another, and by landbelonging to his father.

April 8, 1766 William was admitted Freeman at New Milford.

[412] July 5, 1781, he sold what seemed to be his last property in NewMilford. Sometime during the following years, William and Sarah seemto have gone with their sons, David and Benajah, to Chemung (then inMontgomery Co.), NY probably between 1779 and 1783.

[9372] They were married by Roger Brownson, J.P. (New Milford Land Records5:10 ) They resided in New Preston, CT.
