[7292] Before the war of the Revolution, Abraham Bennett Sr. sold his landin Fairfield County, CT in Ridgefield and took his family across theHudson river. By 1775 he and Abraham Jr were living in the town ofWarwick, Orange Co, NY after temporary locations in NJ and in thatpart of northern PA to which the Colony of CT then laid claim".(from Ancestral Lines of Chester Everts Howell)
[7294] By 1775 he and Abraham Jr. were living in the town of Warwick, OrangeCounty, N. Y. after temporary locations in N.J. and in that part ofNorthern Pennsylvania to which the Colony of Connecticut then laidclaim. Assessment and militia rolls of Warwick show listed togetherthe names of Abraham and Abraham Jr.
[7287] As late as 1777 Abraham Sr. received pay for Militia service and hewas probably alive in 1784 when Abraham Jr. signed a receipt usingJr. after his name. However the 1790 census lacks the name ofAbraham Sr. Perhaps it was about this time when he went to Minisink.

[11059] Except for that of Abraham Jr. the names of the children of theolder Abraham are at present unknown. Their mother was Silence,daughter of Samuel Hickox of Waterbury Conn. She was born there in1713 and was married to Abraham Bennett (Sr) in 1737 before theremoval from Connecticut.
