Baptism: LDS; Fisher genealogy Marriage: LDS..apparently had 4 wives;
Mary, Isabel and 2 others Death: Jordan, John. W. Colonial and
Revolutionary Families of Pennsylvania, vol 2, p. 752. Fisher
genealogy shows children in this order: Joshua, Mary, Anthony, Amos,
Martha. Landed in New England in 1637 from the ship "Rose" and
settled in Dedham, MA. He was baptized in Syleham england in the month
of April, 1591....where he lived on the south bank of the Waveny
river, which separates Suffolk from Morfolk co., on a freehold estate
called "Wignotte."..was one of the original lot ownters and subscribed
to the Dedham "Covenant", July 18, 1637. A part of his lot holdings
in the town of Dedham, is still owned by his descendents. He served
in the French and Indian War, of 1652, with the rank of lieutenant.
He was a member of the Dedham Church, but according to the records of
that church, was not "comfortably received into the church until March
1645; was chosen selectman in 1646 and 1647, county commissioner, Sept
3, 1660, and elected a deputy of the General Court, May 2, 1649.
March 5, 1666, he was chosen commissioner and in December 1671, was
agin elected selectman. According to the town records of Dedham of
that period we find that "In Anthony Fisher we find and Englishman of
strong positive points of character, with liberal means for the times
and favorable considerations by his fellow settlers, as a citizen."
His wife was Isabel, widow of Edward Beck, of Dorchester, and their
children were all probably born in England.
