Reunions & Meetings

Home History Officers Membership Reunions & Meetings Family Chronicles Scholarships What's New?

Annual reunions have been held since the association was formed in 1948.  It was established that a family reunion shall be held each year in early August. Seeing that most of the Coppage-Coppedge family attending are from east of the Mississippi River most reunions have been no further west than Little Rock, AK.  When the association first began, the nominating committee would specify three or four locations for the next reunion.  In the past 10 to 15 years it has been at the discretion of the incoming president to choose a location for the next reunion.  The reunion starts on Friday afternoon with registration.  In the evening there is a silent auction of items donated by the members along with a social get-together.  The proceeds of this auction go towards the scholarship fund for the members and their children.  Saturday morning is the time for the general meeting of the corporation.  All persons who attend are welcome to the meeting, but only dues paying members may vote.  The rest of Saturday morning and afternoon is open time for everyone to do some sightseeing or relax at the hotel.  Saturday night is time for the big banquet.  Usually this takes place in the banquet facility of the hotel with a welcome address (from someone local), roll call of states, speaker, award of scholarships, introduction of new officers and the reunion always ends with the singing of our family song.  Sunday is reserved for church or whatever you may want to do before leaving for home.

The 2016 Coppage-Coppedge Family Reunion will be held in Winchester, VA. August 4th-7th at the George Washington Hotel. We hope to see you all there!!!
