Cardiff Religous Survey 2005
On obtaining a grant from "Awards for You", the Cardiff Places of Worship Survey was undertaken by members of the Cardiff Branch of the Glamorgan Family History Society during the year 2005 which saw the Centenary
of the City of Cardiff Wales.
The purpose of the survey was to ascertain the location, name, and if possible the affiliation of the various places of Worship that had been and was in existence at the date of 28th October 2005.
Together with the date of foundation, or construction of the building, the date of closure or deconsecrating and the date of demolition, or conversion to other uses. Also any known records and their location at the present time (October 2006).
Reference was also made to the deposited building regulations applications and any illustrations held in either public or private hands as well as written histories of the various congregations and groups.
Immense help was given when an unpublished survey by Mr Brian James undertaken in 1983 and 1989 was made available to the compliers of the survey.
THIS RESOURCE IS STILL UNDER DEVELOPMENT AND IF YOU ARE AWARE OF INACCURACIES OR OMMISSIONS PLEASE NOTIFY THE WEBMASTER.
