- MO Coroner's Inquest Database The Coroner’s Inquest Database is an abstract of records that have been indexed and are available for online research. The database contains records from various counties, the City of St. Louis, and the St. Louis Medical Examiner.

- Missouri Digital Newspapers, The State Historical Society of Missouri.
- Cape Girardeau Weekly Argus, , Cape Girardeau, Missouri (Jun 18, 1863 - Jun 1, 1871). Although I did not see many obituaries in this paper, they did supply marriage notices and Estate Administration notices.
- Iron County Register (1867-1879)
- Newspapers.com - Search. While this site does require a subscription, you can still search through the clippings, that other's have clipped, for FREE. You have more options if you login with Ancestry.com but it is still a very good source.
- FamilySearch - Search. You can create an account for free or use Facebook, Google, Apple, or a Church Account. Just like Ancestry, you get a list of results but without the cost.
- Ancestry.com FREE Collections. Some collections are only indexes.
- WikiTree - Online Tree that is one global family tree. I have my tree there and I highly recommend it.
- Internet Archive. They have scanned a lot of books that are out of copyright. P.S. Don't use the search titled waybackmachine. The Archive search is further below.
- Google Books - just like Internet Archive, they have a lot of out of copyright books.
- HathiTrust - Stewards of the largest digitized collection of knowledge allowable by copyright law. Several useful books for genealogy.
- USGenWeb - Select your state then your county.
- WorldGenWeb, can be used for research outside the USA.
