Marshall Lee Knight
June 10, 1922 - March 3, 1999
Marshall Lee Knight, age 76, passed away on March 3, 1999 at the Capital City
Nursing Home. He was born on June 10, 1922 in Runge, Karnes Co., TX, the son
of William Robert Knight and Dorothy Lee (nee Marshall) Knight. He attended
High School in Runge, TX. He served in the Navy during World War II.
He was retired from the Postal Service.
Marshall L. Knight was born into a large extended family of Knights and
Marshalls,
many of which lived out their days in Karnes Co., TX. His grandfather was Jasper
Walter Knight and his Grandmother was Sarah Mae (nee Biles) Knight, on his father's
side. On his mother's side, his grandfather was William I. Marshall and Carrie
Tabb.
He is survived by his brother William R. Knight of Odem, TX, sisters, Ida Mae
Seltzer of Houston, and Glenna Masters of Pasadena, TX, and three daughters,
Carolyn M. Getting, Dorothy L. Knight, and Pamela M. Knight, all of Austin, TX
and many grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Marshall L. Knight lived in San Marcos, TX for many years. He has been a resident
at the Capitol City Nursing Home for the last nine years, and will be missed.
The family wishes to thank those who made his last years as comfortable as possible.
It is with love that his family here has sent him on his way to be with his family
who have passed on. It is with prayer that we ask God to take care of his soul
and ours until we are reunited.
Visitation will be at the Weed Corley~Fish Funeral Home at 32nd and Lamar between
7:00 and 8:00 P. M. Friday, March 5, 1999. Graveside services will be held on
Saturday, March 6, at 1:00 P.M. in Runge, TX at the Runge Cemetery. Services
will be officiated by Rev. Quigley, Methodist Minister.
