I am looking for information about John Doss Stevens(possibly Dawes or Dawson). John lived in Fulton Township, Hamilton County, Ohio in the 1850 and 1860 census - both
say he was born in Indiana about 1810. He joined the Union as a train fireman and died from injuries from the war. I think John was a member of the
48th OHIO VETERAN VOLUNTEER INFANTRY.
There is a John Stevens, age 49, listed in Company D. This John was discharged with disability, which is consistant
with family legend.
