Daniel was the first son and second child of David John and Ellen Todd Barker.  Born 21 November 1887 in Granger, Salt Lake, Utah and died 29 August 1967 in Taylorsville, Salt Lake, Utah.  He married Stella Ann Morris 19 January 1909 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah.  They were the parents of  thirteen children:  Melba Ellen, Eugene Washington, Phyllis Larill, Morris Daniel, Lawrence Vearl, Ellis David, Wilmar Vitler, Lila Fay, Ronald Elmo, Arvella, Noal Jay, Cline De Von and Janice May Barker.
