Paul Hoffman Latsha was born and raised in Shamokin, Northumberland County Pennsylvania. He lived a short life... moving onto Indian Land in the Oklahoma Territory1, he was a farmer and later appointed Town Constable by Arkansas Governor James Clarke in 1897. First wife Ellen Knight died from childbirth complications of daughter Ellen, he remarried in April 1895 to Mattie Eugenia Huddleston of Alabama.

Paul died in the fall of 1900 and guardianship of the children was given to wife Mattie. His death was listed as a result of "swamp fever" (most likely cholera), and he was buried at Stonewoods Cemetery in Dora Township.

Paul died 5 Oct 1900 Dora, Arkansas at the early age of 33.

1 Dora became a township of Arkansas before Oklahoma received its statehood... situated on the border, most is actually located within the Oklahoma state line.
