Your Chinese script did not show up in your posting. Is your surname this Xu (徐)? To see the script goto View and select Unicode (UTF-8)
If your grandfather died in Malaysia and is buried there, then someone should visit his gravesite. There is a good chance his tombstone will have Chinese script on it and his village name should be included. That would be the best starting point.
