well... the name is more common then everyone thinks. I have met a whole bunch of people from various ethnic backgrounds with some variation of that name and would you believe, I met all them by chance. There are Spanish, African, Irish and Scotish with this last name. The most common is the Chinese from the Canton area. Years after the English left the mainland region of Canton, the central government of China took back control of how Chinese were to be translated into English, so the Moys who immigrated more recently or from another port other then Hong Kong (which was handed back over to China in 1997) were spelled Mui. I know of one French person with the spelling of the last name Moye, but I would think that that is a completely different name altogether? But if you are searching for that exact spelling, begin with your ethinc background.
