You probably have your answer already since this is an old post. Anyway, Dai Dai in Cantonese means little brother. Thus, I suspect that your daughter's Chinese name was mistransliterated, and the actual designated name for her should have been Tai Tai which in Cantonese means a well-to-do girl with much leisure time on her hand......just my spin on your query.
