Francia,

Your post needs clarification. Are you seeking information on the location of your father's ancestral village? If so, I did some quick research on the internet, and I believe the name of the village was "Kak Chio" located about a mile from the port city of Swatow. Swatow is now called Shantou and is located in the upper east coastal area of Guangdong Province, due south of Fujian Province. With due consideration to the recent economic growth and fast-commercialization of China, hopefully Kak Chio village still exists today. First, you need to find the name of the village on a detailed map....actually you may need to locate the village on an older map if the village no longer exists today. After pinpointing the exact location of the village, you can plan on making a trip there to located your relatives there. Most likely many of your Chua family clan still live in the area, so you must ask the local people when you get there. When you go, it would be most helpful to bring with you photos of your relatives and their names written in Chinese. I believe your family clan surname is written as .

Alternatively, there is an organization (Overseas Chinese Affairs of Guangdong) which may offer some assistance in locating your relatives. Check out their website: http://gocn.southcn.com/english/consult/

Good luck in your genealogical search.

Raymond
