I was a passenger on General Gordon. The ship left Hong Kong harbor on
August 1st, 1948, stopped at Shanghai for a day and then continued via Yokohama, Honolulu and arrived San Francisco on August 19th. I was an eleven year old boy at the time and travelled in the third class towards the back and lower deck of the ship. Most of the passengers there were children of Chinese American servicemen who served in the U.S. military in WWII. They were escorted by adults in coming to American. Would like to have a picture of this ship for keep sake.
