In Mandarin, it's pronounced "lie" (very strong "ai" sound)
In Cantonese, it's pronounced "lay"
In Cenline, it's prounounced "loy" (like "alloy")
An in Teochew (I think) it's pronounced "lou" (sounds like "loud, but without the 'd'; like cow)

: I would like to know the corect pronunciation of my last name Lai. I know it can be pronounced Lie or Lay. I knew of a chinese family growing up who pronounced it Low (as in cow). P.S I am half chinese and quite ignorant about the language
