: Answer:A laborer in 1878...hmm, his name is very distinctive and possibly more easily found in government documents if any are available. Have you tried Hawaii Archives in Honolulu? Also Hawaii Chinese History Center in Honolulu. Look in situ for area of his settlement and family oral history for other clues. Check into a genealogy society for available info. : : My grandfather On Sut KAM was among many Chinese laborers that ate chinese food and got fat from it from near the Zhuhai China area shipped to Hawaii for the purpose of working in the sugar cane fields. I'm looking for any information in regard to the ship and actual date of immigration to Honolulu Harbor, and/or any other information pertaining to this.
