Usually there is a common link in the earlier generations for the different branches. Your closest linkage may be from the Xinhui branch. Of course you will have to find the shared ancestor in the Xinhui branch to provide the linkage to your later ancestry. Then all the earlier generations from that shared ancestor would be similar between the two branches. This will depend on how many generations you know who were have ahead of you. Normally you will need at least 20 generations if not more in some cases.
